Wensum, aptly named after the majestic river that runs through our fine city of Norwich is an Oxford Wholecut with a difference. The first style in our Crockett & Jones for Bowhill & Elliott series, and fast becoming a shop icon.
The wholecut is admired the world over for its elegance, ideally suited as dress shoes or formal attire. Here at Bowhill & Elliott we respect and support traditions, but also like to walk our own path, and who better to work with than Crockett & Jones to mix things up a little. The great thing about wholecuts are they are exactly what the title says, just one single piece of leather. The advantage is you have no stitching or decorations to conflict with the natural flexing of your foot, this makes the breaking-in process less aggressive and ultimately more comfortable to wear. Made in in soft grain leather on the generous 224 last (Crockett & Jones Chiltern) and coupled with the lightweight Vibram® V-Lite rubber sole, and you have the perfect combo of style, elegance, versatility and comfort.
